Sclerotherapy
Treat Unwanted Leg Veins with Sclerotherapy
Sclerotherapy is a minimally invasive treatment for unwanted leg veins. A solution is injected directly into the vein with a very fine needle, causing it to close and gradually fade from view as the body reabsorbs it. Treatments are performed in office, take about the length of a standard appointment, and most people return to their normal routine the same day. Sclerotherapy is used for spider veins and smaller varicose veins, and more than one session is sometimes needed depending on the area being treated.

SCLEROTHERAPY
Sclerotherapy remains one of the most established approaches to spider veins and small varicose veins on the legs. During treatment, a sclerosing solution is placed into the vein through a fine needle. The vein wall reacts to the solution and closes, blood reroutes through healthier veins nearby, and the treated vein fades over the following weeks as it is absorbed. Your provider will look at the veins being treated, talk through what to expect, and let you know whether more than one session is likely for the area you want addressed.
